Winkel Pond Trail

Description

The trail begins at the old Pharmedica building at 255 Route 80, where parking is available. Hikers can choose to navigate the loop in either direction. The path features a boardwalk crossing, an old earthen dam, a stream crossing, and a cave area. The surrounding wetlands and pond provide excellent opportunities for birdwatching and observing local wildlife. Please note that the trail can be very wet after rainy periods.

Difficulty

Easy

The trail is short and easy to follow, with mostly flat ground and gentle terrain. A boardwalk and small stream crossing add variety but are simple to navigate. It’s a good option for a quick walk or for families with kids. Just be aware that the trail can be muddy after rain.
