Blinnshed Ridge Trail
Description
This trail meanders through diverse forest landscapes, featuring several low ridges, rock outcrops, and a picturesque section along the Neck River. The path traverses areas with large oak, beech, and tulip-poplar trees, offering a mix of shaded and open sections. Hikers will encounter wetlands adorned with skunk cabbage, false hellebore, and spicebush, especially vibrant in early spring. The trail also crosses small streams via cedar log bridges and passes by notable geological features like glacier-smoothed rock formations. Wildlife sightings, including deer, are common, particularly near the river and powerline clearings. The trail connects with both the Blinnshed Loop and Neck River Trails, allowing for extended hikes.
