Branford Trail
Description
The Branford Trail is a 28-mile loop that circles the entire town of Branford, connecting forests, parks, preserves, and neighborhoods through a continuous white-circle-blazed path. It passes through a wide range of scenery — from rocky inland woods and ridgelines to salt marshes, ponds, and the edges of shoreline neighborhoods. The trail includes both quiet backwoods sections and short stretches along paved or dirt roads, linking together protected lands and town-owned open space. Hikers will encounter granite ledges, tidal views, wooded boardwalks, and historic points of interest along the way. While the full loop is long, it’s divided into smaller sections with convenient access points throughout town, making it easy to hike in parts or as a multi-day loop.
