Ironwoods Preserve

Description

Located in Madison, CT, Ironwoods Preserve is a 71.8-acre natural area managed by the Madison Land Conservation Trust. The preserve features a network of trails totaling approximately 2.6 to 3 miles, offering hikers a moderate experience through diverse ecological settings. The terrain includes open meadows, dry rocky ridges, and low, wet valley bottomlands, providing a variety of habitats for local flora and fauna.

The trail features some nice flat areas that are free from obstructions, but also features some more challenging inclines and rocky areas. Parts of the trail can also get muddy considering that it goes around a pond.
